Hula dances are a powerful and beautiful artistic way to portray the oli or mele in a visual form. Ashlee hand makes her pā'ū (wrapped skirt), kupe'e (bracelet), and leipo'o (headpiece) out of local ti leaves. Thank you Ashlee for allowing me to photograph you dancing hula and teaching me about your cultures.
